It is that time again…my guilty pleasure TV show is back…The Bachelor. I really can’t explain why it is so awesome, it just is!! So many women and so much drama is just so entertaining. In Germany, Jessie and I had many afternoons watching The Bachelor and the Bachelorette and my personal favorite Bachelor in Paradise in her bed eating junk food, shhh, Don’t tell Greg…he also has a secret, well not so much anymore 😉 love of watching the bachelor. I am sure he will love me announcing it, I guess we will see if he reads this!!

Goodbye 2018…Hello 2019

Our Year in Review: 2018 Top Blog Posts

It’s hard to believe that 2018 is coming to an end. Jen and I launched our blog September 28th and it has been a crazy, amazing, exciting, sometimes overwhelming adventure ever since. Can you believe it has only been 3 months?? We can’t either!! Time has flown by and we have loved bringing to life all our DIY projects and tutorials, renovations, and just sharing our homes with all of you. We have learned a lot in the process and I am sure have lots more to learn…but through all of it the best part has been connecting with our readers and hearing about your projects and hopefully inspiring others to add a little DIY into their lives.

Here are a few of our favorite blog posts so far and a recap of the most popular with the readers over our first 3 months. We hope you have enjoyed ALL we have shared so far. There are lots of ideas floating around in our notebooks for the New Year, so be looking out for those. If you have a great idea for us, we would love to hear about it too. Let’s make 2019 a GREAT Year!!!

Bringing Christmas Magic into 2019

Well, it is a wrap on Christmas 2018. Hope you all had a HAPPY, HEALTHY, and FUN Christmas!!  It seems to fly by faster and faster each year. All that planning, decorating, and cooking is now a distant memory and it is time to think of what the New Year will bring. It is always exciting to look into the next year and think about your hopes and wishes for the New Year…almost like a new beginning!

DIY Teacher Gifts

It’s that time of year to thank all the amazing people who help support our children and help them grow. Teachers do so much for our children all year it is really nice to thank them, especially at the holidays for all their hard work and patience. It is so difficult to come up with new and creative ideas each year for the teachers. The standard go-to gifts are always appreciated by the teachers, but sometimes it is fun to get creative.

This year, I am working on a DIY Personalized Wooden Pencil Holder. I actually bought one of these off of Etsy a few years back for one of my amazing teachers and thought to myself ~Hey, I could totally make this myself…if I had the time of course. Well, this is the year! This would also be a great gift for Teacher Appreciation Week or End of the Year Gift.

So…Let’s Get Creating! 😉

DIY Flocked Christmas Tree

Flocking is all the rage right now and I have a feeling it isn’t going away anytime soon…

Tree flocking became popular in the late 1950s and 1960s, along with aluminum trees and other glitzy, non natural-looking decor of the post-war boom. General Mills marketed Sno-Flok home kits, which were applied using a gun that attached to a vacuum cleaner. Umm…Can I still get one of those? Now, those flocked trees are coming back with a vengeance and you don’t have to just buy them in the stores, you can make them yourselves.
