Goodbye 2018…Hello 2019

Our Year in Review: 2018 Top Blog Posts

It’s hard to believe that 2018 is coming to an end. Jen and I launched our blog September 28th and it has been a crazy, amazing, exciting, sometimes overwhelming adventure ever since. Can you believe it has only been 3 months?? We can’t either!! Time has flown by and we have loved bringing to life all our DIY projects and tutorials, renovations, and just sharing our homes with all of you. We have learned a lot in the process and I am sure have lots more to learn…but through all of it the best part has been connecting with our readers and hearing about your projects and hopefully inspiring others to add a little DIY into their lives.

Here are a few of our favorite blog posts so far and a recap of the most popular with the readers over our first 3 months. We hope you have enjoyed ALL we have shared so far. There are lots of ideas floating around in our notebooks for the New Year, so be looking out for those. If you have a great idea for us, we would love to hear about it too. Let’s make 2019 a GREAT Year!!!

Before & After

Our first blog post was also a personal favorite – The Powder Room Makeover. This room went through an extreme makeover. The wallpaper was removed only to find out more wallpaper was underneath. I shiplapped walls, added a tiled accent wall, vintage cigar mold shelves, new vanity, toilet, mirror, light fixture, and flooring, making it a completely different room and space. It turned out so well, that I’ve been itching to get to our other two bathrooms the second this one was finished. You can expect to see a Guest Bathroom Makeover coming soon in the new year.

DIY in a Day

DIY Shiplap Wall Tutorial was one of our Top posts this year in DIY in a Day and also one of our most used. This is truly one of my favorite projects, as I’m sure you can tell because I have added Shiplap to many of my rooms now – Master Bedroom, Bathroom, Entryway and Kitchen Island. I keep saying I am all done with Shiplap, but I have learned never say never! 😉

DIY Magnet Board

DIY Magnet Board, is another one of our DIY in a Day Blog Posts. It is one of our favorite and most useful projects we have done this year. It is a great conversational piece, every time someone comes into Jen or I’s house they always love to see all the places we have been. So fun and so so easy to make. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check it out.

Staging

During our adventure of Blogging, it has been extremely clear to me that Decorating and Staging is definitely something I am very passionate about. I absolutely love making anything and everything look beautiful. Now I find myself in other people’s homes rearranging all of their stuff, sometimes they ask and others not so much…Whoops!! 😉

Our Top Blog Post for the year was Seasonal Staging & House Tour. This is super exciting for me, I spent so much time and thought into my home this Holiday season. I am so glad that everyone enjoyed it as well. I’m still in the process of figuring out where to put all my Christmas Decor and of course What Is Next!!

$50 Mantle Makeover

$50 Mantle Makeover, which is also in our Staging category was our 2nd most popular Blog Post this year. This post was so fun for me, I got to ransack one of my friend’s homes and create a new look for her. It also, was the beginning of our Live FB Posts, which I am still trying to get use to doing…lol! This blog post led to other people requesting me to takeover their homes as well. Super exciting! I am still finishing up all the final touches for one of our most popular Live Videos of Takeover Tuesday. I will have a new blog post coming in the New Year with all the details and final looks.

Top Looks

Some exciting things that happened this year with our blog…one being we were featured by Kirklands, Target, YesKirklands and a few small shops and other blogs. Our most seen Image this year was on Instagram for the Home Store Kirklands, with almost 16,000 LIKES! Super exciting and hopefully just the beginning for all of our adventures!!

Here are a few teasers as to what to look forward to in the next year…Guest Bathroom Renovation, Stair Staining, Bench Makeover, Pillow Sewing Tutorial, Getting house ready for Spring and hopefully a few “work” trips to keep it exciting, oh and maybe Jen will have new house to decorate 😉

Thank you for all your support in our first year…We look forward to 2019 and all the new, fun, and creative ideas to come!
