Week 3 ~ Stand Still so lets Prep!

All right guys…the weeks are just flying by and here we are finishing up Week 3 of the Jeffrey Court Renovation. So, originally I said that was going to try to do this renovation all on my own, but this week was all about the professionals. Sometimes no matter how hard you try or how many YouTube videos you watch, you just have to call in the BIG guns and that’s exactly what happened this week.

While waiting for the professionals to handle the plumbing, I decided to work on prepping all the spaces I can. So, let’s get started on what we can do while we wait. My good friends at Behr Paint and FrogTape are helping by sponsoring this project. Thank goodness, because we need lots of prep work in this space.

I am going to be using FrogTape for something different than painting. This is what I normally do to help me see a space clearly without putting all the features and fixtures in place. I used the FrogTape to map out the bathroom features to help me see what I want to do with the space.

I am actually not going to tell you what this space is. You have to use your imagination. Let’s just say something super cool and different is coming at you!! Let me know if you can figure it out.

Since all my pieces aren’t here yet, I am using my spec sheets to figure out where everything with fit in the space.

Next up…I am prepping the ceiling…since this is one of the spaces I can actually do something to. I painted 3 coats of the Kilz primer on the ceiling, making sure it is completely waterproof and ready to go.

Now…lets’ get some walls up. Up goes the cement walls…does anyone remember how much I hate cement boards?

You know I can’t do a bathroom without building a custom niche. This is not the easiest thing to do, but in the end it is totally worth it. This is one of my favorite things I added in my Master Bathroom renovation last time. I was going to use a pre-made niche, but at the last minute decided I wanted it to be bigger than I could find at the store.

This niche is going to be 3 ft high x 18 in wide. I actually have a super different surprise for this niche…so you are going to have to keep following along to see how it turns out. It’s going to be amazing…or not…LOL!

Boom!!! Who’s getting excited? Now that’s a niche…Love adding something custom all made by myself!

Okay friends…we have so much more to get done. Who’s ready to start moving? Keep following along…I have big plans for next week! Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

Be sure to check out the other great designers participating in the Jeffrey Court All Star Challenge and remember voting starts this week, so be sure to vote for your favorite designer!!
